There was a stir in Vivekananda Nagar of Alwar after a suspicious object like a bomb fitted with a timer was found. The police have kept it at a safe place near Jaisamand Dam. Bomb disposal squad and ATS are engaged in investigation.
Rajasthan: There was a stir in Vivekananda Nagar Sector-4 of Alwar on Monday morning when a suspicious object was found lying abandoned near a house. When the local people saw that object, they immediately informed the police. As soon as the information was received, Aravali Vihar police station reached the spot and the entire area was alerted.
During preliminary investigation, the police found that the object had a timer and looked like a bomb. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the police immediately adopted security measures.
Object taken away from the city due to security reasons
Police officials decided to move the suspicious object away from Alwar city to Jaisamand Dam to avoid any possible danger. There the object was kept in an empty and safe place in the middle of the dam.
During this time, the police team remained present with full vigilance throughout the route. Movement of common people has been banned in the Jaisamand Dam area and policemen are constantly keeping an eye on the object.
Timer on, bomb squad alert
Sub-Inspector Bhagwan Singh of Aravali Vihar police station said that after receiving information from the control room, the police immediately reached the spot. During investigation, it became clear that the suspicious object had a timer running on it and some suspicious substance was filled on both its sides.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, information has been given to Jaipur ATS and bomb disposal squad. Both the teams have left for Alwar. The police are maintaining full alertness until the expert team examines the object.
absconded after a scuffle
According to the police, Babu Singh, a resident of Vivekananda Nagar, told that an unknown person had come near his house on Monday morning. During this time he had an altercation and scuffle with Babu Singh and his wife. During the scuffle this suspicious object fell from the person.
After this the person fled from the spot. Police are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby so that the suspicious person can be identified. Officials say no risk will be taken until it is clear what the item contains.
