Pankaj Kapur Calls Son Shahid Completely Self-Made, Shares Father’s Advice: Read Here!
In an interview with Zoom, Pankaj Kapur praised his three children, including Shahid Kapoor, saying they are self-made and never relied on their family name for success. Pankaj Kapur, a celebrated Bollywood actor and father of actor Shahid Kapoor, recently spoke about his children and their journey in the film industry.
He proudly shared that all his kids—two sons and a daughter—began their careers by giving auditions like any newcomer, without revealing their family background or seeking special advantage. During an exclusive interaction, Kapur said he hopes that just as God has been kind and supportive in his own career, the same blessings continue for his children as well. Meanwhile, the actor recently made headlines for his OTT release Jab Khuli Kitaab, directed by Saurabh Shukla.
Pankaj Kapur talks about son Shahid kapoor
While talking to us, Pankaj Kapur admitted he only contributed genes to his children, saying that was what his father taught him, and added that this belief influenced his parenting approach. “If you win, you will get the confidence of a winner, and if you lose, you will know that you made a mistake. And I have given that to all my children.

When I see any of my children working and standing on their own feet, and since these days there’s a fashion for the audience, they don’t tell that they are my children. They go and audition on their own and when they get selected, it makes them feel good about it. It’s not because of their father’s name or their brother’s (Shahid Kapoor) name. So was true about Shahid. He also stood on his own feet and made it completely on his own, wherever he is today. Yes, there was this thing that this man is always there BUT in case required.”
He concluded by wishing that all his children keep progressing in life and hoped they receive the same blessings and grace from God that he has been fortunate to experience.
