Sahibganj: JMM’s Central Committee member cum spokesperson Pankaj Mishra has once again emerged as the king maker. Recently, he was successful in making Ramnath Paswan alias Chhotu Paswan victorious on the post of Sahibganj Municipal Council President with a huge vote. Now the unopposed election of Ward 1 councilor Vineeta Kumari for the post of Vice President has been decided.
Vineeta is from Congress quota and has been the vice president earlier also. Vinita Devi’s name was proposed by senior Congress leaders to JMM’s central spokesperson Pankaj Mishra. Pankaj Mishra has a lot of influence in the politics of Santal people of Jharkhand. He is considered close to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. During the Jharkhand municipal elections, he made continuous efforts to win over the people of JMM.

On Sunday, all the elected ward councilors were called on the pretext of congratulation. This issue was discussed in it. During this period, a total of 25 out of 28 ward councilors had arrived. All ward councilors were honored in the ceremony. The ward councilors present unanimously gave their consent to make Ward Councilor of Ward 1 Vinita Devi the Vice President. Vineeta Devi has won the election of ward councilor for the third consecutive time.

Swearing in and elections will be held on 12th

The swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected chairpersons and members of the municipal body in Jharkhand will be held on March 12. Sahibganj has three municipal bodies – Sahibganj Municipal Council, Rajmahal Nagar Panchayat and Barhadwa Nagar Panchayat. Separate places have been fixed for the three municipal bodies. The swearing-in ceremony will be held in the Collectorate Auditorium, Sido Kanhu Auditorium and Panchayati Bhawan Auditorium. The vice presidents of the three bodies are also to be selected on the day of the oath ceremony.
All ward councilors will elect one member as vice-president from among their members with mutual consent. If there is no consensus, voting can also be conducted. District Election Officer (NP) cum Deputy Commissioner Hemant Sati will administer the oath to the chairpersons of the three municipal bodies. The ROs of the respective municipal bodies will administer the oath to the ward councilors. After the oath taking, the vice president of the three municipal bodies will be elected. The winner will be given a certificate by the RO. The Vice President will be administered the oath by the Chairman of the Municipal Body. Administrative preparations are underway to make the oath taking ceremony a success. On the other hand, after the counting of votes is over, the Model Code of Conduct has automatically expired. There is no restriction of any kind.

Board meeting will be held soon

After the swearing in of the newly elected members of the Municipal Council, the first meeting will be held under the chairmanship of District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Hemant Sati. The gazette will be prepared and sent to the executive officer of Municipal Council Sahibganj, Rajmahal Nagar Panchayat and Barhadwa Nagar Panchayat. The name and address of all the members and all the points including their tenure will be mentioned in the said gazette. After that, the second meeting will be held with the executive officer in the city council. From here, the outline of the city’s development will be prepared. The President, Vice President and Ward Councilor will come up with a plan and work will be done towards implementation. This board meeting will be held after three years of the City Council. Residents of urban areas will be waiting for important decisions in the board meeting.
