Sarthak Ranjan: Mini-auction for IPL 2026 The mini-auction took place on Tuesday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. While on one hand Australian all-rounder Cameron Green became the most expensive foreign player, on the other hand huge bids were also made on many uncapped players. Along with this, Sarthak Ranjan, son of MP Pappu Yadav from Purnia, Bihar, will also be seen showing his talent in the next season of IPL.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was the most expensive player in the mini-auction. Green was bought by KKR i.e. Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 25.20 crore. KKR also bought Sri Lankan fast bowler Mathisha Pathirana for Rs 18 crore. Uncapped players Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma joined Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14.20 crore each.

CSK bought Pappu Yadav’s son

A successful bid was also made for Sarthak Ranjan, son of Lok Sabha MP Pappu Yadav, in the mini-auction of IPL 2026. Sarthak was bought by three-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 30 lakh. Sarthak’s base price was Rs 30 lakh and he joined Shah Rukh Khan-co-owned KKR at the same price. This will be Sarthak’s first appearance in the IPL.

Cricketer Sarthak Ranjan had performed brilliantly in the Delhi Premier League 2025. Sarthak Ranjan has so far played 2 First-Class, 4 List-A and 5 T20 matches for Delhi in domestic cricket. He has scored 28 runs in first-class cricket at an average of 9.33. In List A matches, he has scored 105 runs at an average of 26.25, while in T20 cricket, he has scored 66 runs at an average of 13.20.

Sarthak Ranjan made his first-class debut against Hyderabad in November 2018. When Nitish Rana was the captain of Delhi team. Before that, he made his List A debut against Himachal Pradesh in February 2017 under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant. Gautam Gambhir was also a part of the Delhi team in that match. Sarthak made his T20 debut against Baroda in January 2016. At that time Gautam Gambhir was captaining the Delhi team.
