Shock and uproar over Ambedkar! How much work was done in the winter session of Parliament

New Delhi: The winter session of the 18th Lok Sabha ended on Friday. This session started from 25 November. A total of 20 meetings were held in the entire session. Proceedings went on for about 105 hours in both the houses. The productivity of Lok Sabha during the session was 54%, Rajya Sabha was 41%. A total of four bills were introduced in the House. However, no bill could be passed. The most discussed was the 129th Constitution (Amendment) Bill introduced for one country, one election. This bill was sent to the 39-member JPC for review. 27 MPs from Lok Sabha and 12 from Rajya Sabha have been selected in this committee.

The committee will have to submit its report in the Lok Sabha on the first day of the last week of the next session of Parliament. The session started with uproar over Adani issue. Then opposition MPs also raised the issue of Manipur and farmers. By the end of the session, there was a huge uproar over the Ambedkar issue. On December 19, the matter came to a head. Two BJP MPs were injured and Rahul Gandhi was blamed for this. An FIR was also lodged against him.

BJP MP's allegation against Rahul

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said, 'I saw Rahul Gandhi climbing Makar Gate. We tried to give them space. After climbing up, he pushed Pratap Sarangi and Santosh Pandey who were standing next to us. Mukesh Rajput was pushed and all the people who were standing there were pushed. For the first time, I saw the ugly face of this party. The way our MPs were pushed, abused and after that, they showed no remorse is condemnable.

Lok Sabha Speaker gave advice

As soon as the proceedings started in the Lok Sabha at 11 am, Speaker Om Birla said that it is not right to protest at the Parliament Gate. After this the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned indefinitely.

On the current health condition of injured BJP MPs Sarangi and Rajput, RML's Dr. Ajay Shukla said that the condition of both is better and their BP is under control. He is currently in the ICU and the team is monitoring him. Both CT scan and MRI reports are normal.

The investigation will be handed over to the crime branch

According to reports, the investigation of the Parliament case and both the cases (complaints of BJP and Congress) will be handed over to the Crime Branch. On BJP's complaint, FIR has already been registered against Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi. There was a debate during Congress's demonstration against Home Minister Shah.(with agency input)
