Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju wrote in the post, “The Honorable President, on the recommendation of the Government of India, has postponed the Winter Session, 2024 from 25 November to 20 December, 2024 (subject to the exigencies of Parliamentary business). The proposal to convene both the Houses of Parliament has been approved. The program will be celebrated in the Central Hall of the Constitution House on the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution on November 26, 2024 (Constitution Day).

The winter session of Parliament may remain turbulent because One Nation-One Election and Waqf Board bills may be introduced in this session. The government and the opposition have been at loggerheads on both these issues. In such a situation, it may prove to be a big challenge for the government to pass both the bills.
