PassKeys: Do you have trouble remembering dozens of passwords? Are you tired of clicking on ‘Forgot Password’ every time? If yes, then there is good news for you.
PassKeys: Do you have trouble remembering dozens of passwords? Are you tired of clicking on ‘Forgot Password’ every time? If yes, then there is good news for you. Leading tech companies are now moving towards a ‘password-less’ future. But, due to India’s digital diversity and hardware limitations, this ‘game’ may be a bit difficult here.
What is pasky technique?
Paaski is a new digital identity which is based on your device (phone or laptop). It uses your device’s biometrics (fingerprint or Face ID) or screen lock PIN instead of a traditional password. According to the FIDEO Alliance, the number of accounts supporting Passkey has reached billions in the last two years. This system is completely based on your device and biometrics.
When you set up a password on a website, two keys are created—a public key that the website stores and a private key that’s stored on your phone. When you login, the website sends a signal to your phone, and you ‘unlock’ it with your fingerprint or Face ID. You do not need to type anything.

Why might the game get stuck in India?
Older Hardware and ‘Legacy’ Devices Pesky technology requires special security chips and a modern operating system in a smartphone or PC. Even today a large section of people in India are using old budget smartphones which do not fully support this technology. Even today, in rural and urban areas of India, the entire family uses the same smartphone. In which Paschi cannot be effective.
