Pat Cummins leaves SRH midway through IPL season! returned back to australia
Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins is out of the team due to his back injury at the beginning of this season. He has been away from the field since the third Test of the Ashes series, due to which he could not even participate in the T20 World Cup. However, despite the injury, he joined the team camp before the IPL and was seen working on his fitness while bowling in the nets. Yet Cricket Australia has not yet allowed him to play competitive matches.
Cummins returned to Australia for medical clearance
Now Cummins has returned to Australia for final medical clearance. According to reports, he will be scanned under the supervision of Cricket Australia, only after which a decision will be taken on his return. It is expected that he can join the team by April 17. Earlier, Cummins himself had indicated that he would not be available in the initial matches of IPL and according to the latest information, he would be out of at least the first five matches. His return will completely depend on the scan report.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a mixed start to their campaign. In the first match, the team had to face a big defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore, but in the second match they made a great comeback and defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 65 runs. The team’s bowling left a big impact in this match, when the opposition team was limited to 161 runs while chasing the target of 227 runs.
Many questions raised regarding Hyderabad’s bowling
Before the start of the season, many questions were being raised about Hyderabad’s bowling, especially in the absence of Cummins. But bowlers like Jaydev Unadkat, Ishan Malinga and Nitish Kumar Reddy have dispelled these concerns to a great extent with their performance. Now the team is eyeing to maintain this momentum in the next match against Lucknow Super Giants.
At the same time, Nitish Kumar Reddy, while answering the questions being raised on the team’s bowling, clearly said that his team’s bowling is not weak. He told that there is a balance of experienced and young players in the team, who are continuously performing well. According to Reddy, the team’s batting may have been the center of attraction, but the bowling is also equally strong and effective.
