Kangana Ranaut in new controversy regarding the film 'Emergency', Patna High Court takes cognizance of copyright infringement case.

The making and release of the film Emergency has not been easy for Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. This film of his has been in controversies for some reason or the other. Now Kangana Ranaut is in a new controversy for this film. The whole matter is related to the violation of copyright of the famous line of national poet Ramdhani Singh 'Dinkar' 'Vacate the throne so that the public comes'. It has been claimed that this line has been used in the film 'Emergency' without permission. After this the matter has reached Patna Hoi Court.

Kalpana Singh has the copyright

This line 'Vacate the throne so that the public comes' is taken from 'Dinkar's' poem 'Birth of Democracy'. He wrote this poem on the occasion of 26 January 1950. Later this line was included in Dinkar's famous book Neel Kusum. Neel Kusum was first published in 1954. The copyright of this book is with Kalpana Singh, the legal heir of late Kedarnath Singh (son of national poet Dinkar ji).

According to the information received, recently this line has been used without permission in the promotion of the film 'Emergency' and as a lyric of a song. This film has been directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut. Lyricist Manoj Muntashir and the makers of the film are at the center of the copyright infringement dispute. This copyright violation came to light after the release of promotional materials for the film on 26 August 2024.

initiation of legal proceedings

After receiving information about copy infringement, a legal notice was sent to the concerned parties on August 31, 2024, but no response was received. In the telephonic conversation that followed, Manoj Muntashir told Dinkar ji's grandson Ritwik Udayan that he did this work as per the instructions of Kangana Ranaut and he had no direct role in this matter. After this, a petition was filed in the Patna High Court in the matter. After the hearing, the court has ordered to issue notice to the accused.
