Patna: Major action has been taken in the kidnapping case of a doctor in Janipur police station area of the capital Patna. Unknown criminals kidnapped Dr. Sarvesh Kumar Tiwari and demanded a ransom of Rs 70 lakh from his family. Dr. Tiwari is a resident of Rajiv Nagar police station area of Patna and is associated with Nursing and Para Medical College.

Police started swift action: As soon as information about the matter was received, Patna Police immediately showed activity. Under the direction of City Superintendent of Police (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh, a special team was formed under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer Phulwarisharif-02 and Police Station Head Janipur. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the team started technical and scientific investigation and conducted continuous raids at suspicious locations.
Doctor recovered within 24 hours: During the investigation, the police got important clues from technical surveillance, mobile location tracking and local information. Based on these, the team conducted a raid in Warisnagar police station area of Samastipur district. The kidnapped doctor was recovered safely by raiding a hideout located in village Makhdumpur. After the kidnapping, the criminals had kept him hidden here. The entire operation was successful within just 24 hours.

Arrest of three accused: During the raid, the police arrested three accused involved in the kidnapping. The arrested accused have been identified as Ravindra Prasad, Rakesh Kumar and Manish Kumar. All three are residents of Warisnagar police station area of Samastipur district. Police also recovered objectionable material from the accused, the investigation of which is going on.
Statement of Superintendent of Police: West Patna Superintendent of Police Bhanu Pratap Singh said that technical surveillance and coordinated action played a major role in this operation. The team’s quick response proved vital in the safe rescue of the hijacker. He said the search for other possible accused involved in the case is ongoing and more arrests may be made soon.
Legal action and investigation: A case has been registered against the three arrested accused under relevant sections and they have been sent to judicial custody. The police is busy connecting the entire network of kidnapping and the links of the conspiracy. The investigation revealed that the kidnapping was carried out with the aim of ransom and involved a pre-planned plan.
