Pay cut if not bowled 4 overs… R. Ashwin strongly advises KKR for 25 crore player

  • Ravichandran Ashwin’s advice to KKR
  • Direct pay cut warning
  • Deduct salary if not completed 4 overs

Few days left for Indian Premier League 2026 to start. All teams are busy preparing for the tournament. Amidst these preparations, two Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers have been ruled out of the tournament due to back-to-back injuries. First Harshit Rana and now Akashdeep Singh are also going to be out of IPL 2026 due to injury. As a result, bowling has become a big challenge for the team this season.

In this regard, former Team India legend Ravichandran Ashwin KKR A special tip about bowling has been given. In particular, Ashwin has advised Australia’s Cameron Greene to bowl four overs in every match. KKR bought Green for Rs 25.20 crore in a mini-auction, but it is not yet clear whether he will bowl in the IPL.

After Gender Affirming Surgery, Sanjay Bangar’s daughter Anaya Bangar shared an emotional photo with her father, saying, ‘It was not an easy journey…’

Green has taken a total of 16 wickets in the IPL

Green has taken 16 wickets in 29 IPL matches playing for Mumbai Indians (2023) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (2024). However, in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, Green bowled just 3.1 overs in four matches. It is likely that due to workload management, Green will be able to bowl the full four overs in the IPL matches for KKR.

In the wake of uncertainty over Green’s bowling, Ashwin has suggested to KKR that if he refuses to bowl as per Cricket Australia’s workload management guidelines, the team should reduce his IPL salary of Rs 25.20 crore.

Green’s salary should be cut for not bowling four overs: Ashwin

Ashwin said on his YouTube channel ‘Ash Ki Baat’, “I have a question about Cameron Green. Cricket Australia has given him every IPL Will four overs be allowed to be bowled in a match? Cricket Australia might say you can’t bowl four overs. So we have to see what the situation is with him.”

He added, “It’s very simple. Cricket Australia is saying you play IPL, but Test cricket is more important to us. He is under a central contract with them. But IPL teams should have the same opportunity. If you bowl just two overs, I will deduct Rs 2 crore from your contract fee. If he does not bowl four overs, the team has the right to deduct the money.”

Ashwin suggested a change in the contract

Ashwin said, “When you come into the auction, we expect you to bowl four overs every time. If there are any restrictions, the team should have the right to deduct the contract amount. This is my simple and humble opinion. If you are KKR and Shahrukh Khan, you have paid Rs 25 crore to a player and he says he will bowl only one over. How would you feel?”
