On Dubai MMS leak controversy, Payal wrote in her Instagram post that, I never thought that I would have to speak publicly on something so personal and painful. In the last few days, such content has been spread online in which my name and my picture are being falsely linked to a video which is currently circulating on digital platforms. I want to say this very clearly and without any confusion. The person in that video is not me, and it has nothing to do with my life, my decisions, or my identity.

He further said, ‘The most painful thing is not just mistaken identity, but how quickly and easily a person’s dignity can be violated in the digital world. The effects of such actions are not limited to the screen, but have a deep impact on real people, their families and their lives.

Payal further said, ‘I have always thought it better to remain silent in the face of negativity, but this matter demands clarity and voice, not just for myself, but also for all the women who are victims of such online harassment and character assassination. This is not a light or harmless content, rather it is extremely painful and inhumane.

On the MMS clip controversy, Payal said, ‘I publicly and respectfully appeal to the media to refrain from sharing, repeating or speculating on this material in any form. Appropriate legal steps are being taken regarding the misuse of my name and my identity, so that accountability can be fixed as per law. I am deeply grateful to those who have shown support, sympathy and understanding during this difficult time. Your dependable thoughts and kindness gave me courage when I needed it most.
