Captain Shreyas Iyer was the biggest hero of Punjab Kings’ victory in this important match. After the early dismissals of Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly, Iyer led the team to victory by first captaining the innings and finally batting explosively. Iyer along with Prabhsimran Singh made an important partnership of 140 runs in 76 balls for the third wicket. Captain Shreyas played an unbeaten century of 101 runs in 51 balls with a strike rate of 198. His innings included 11 fours and 5 sixes.

Shreyas Iyer got full support from wicketkeeper batsman Prabhsimran Singh. Prabhasimran scored 69 runs in 39 balls with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes. Apart from this, Priyansh Arya could not open his account in the match. Whereas, Cooper Connolly remained unbeaten on 18 runs and Suryansh Suryansh Shedge remained unbeaten on 9 runs. On the other hand, for Lucknow, Mohammed Shami took maximum 2 wickets. At the same time, Arjun Tendulkar, playing his first match in IPL 2026, took 1 wicket.
English’s explosive innings went in vain
Josh Inglis scored the most runs in this match for Lucknow Super Giants. He scored 72 runs in 44 balls with the help of 9 fours and 2 sixes against Punjab Kings. Earlier, he made a partnership of 43 runs with Ayush Badoni, 65 runs with captain Pant and 35 runs with Abdul Samad.
Apart from Josh, Ayush Badoni also displayed explosive batting for LSG. He scored 43 runs in 18 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes.
