PBKS vs DC: Delhi Capitals beat Punjab Kings by 3 wickets, PBKS in trouble with fourth consecutive defeat

In this high-scoring match played in Dharamshala, Delhi achieved the big target of 211 runs in 19 overs. With this win, Delhi registered its fifth win in the season, while Punjab Kings suffered their fourth consecutive defeat.
This match was like ‘do or die’ for Delhi, because in case of defeat the team would have been out of the tournament. But the brilliant innings of captain Akshar Patel, David Miller and young all-rounder Madhav Tiwari gave Delhi a memorable victory.
Punjab Kings made a bang in Dharamshala. Opener Priyansh Arya showed aggressive intent by hitting a six on the very first ball. The team had completed 50 runs in just 2.4 overs. Priyansh played a quick inning of 56 runs and scored a half-century in the powerplay itself.
After this, captain Shreyas Iyer took the responsibility and played an unbeaten inning of 59 runs. Cooper Connolly also contributed by scoring 38 runs. Punjab’s innings, which was once moving towards a score of 220+, suddenly slowed down and the team somehow managed to cross 200. In the end Suryansh Shedge scored 21 runs in 8 balls taking the score to 210.
Delhi Capitals had a very bad start while chasing the target of 211 runs. In the powerplay itself, the team lost three important wickets within 33 runs. Arshdeep Singh and Yash Thakur gave the initial shocks.
After this captain Akshar Patel took over the innings. Akshar, who was struggling this season, made a brilliant comeback and played a stormy innings of 56 runs in 30 balls. He regained the momentum with his first six and brought the team back into the match.
David Miller played the role of Akshar Patel very well. Despite being in and out of the team continuously, Miller showed his class by scoring 51 runs in 28 balls. An important partnership between the two took Delhi closer to the target.
In the last overs, Ashutosh Sharma played a quick inning of 24 runs in 10 balls and completely turned the match towards Delhi. Madhav Tiwari, who also contributed in bowling, scored 18 runs in 8 balls and gave Delhi victory with 6 balls remaining.
