The biggest turning point of the match was seen in the 18th over of the first innings, when Hardik Pandya’s shot going for a six was brilliantly stopped by Shreyas Iyer. He caught the ball by jumping on the boundary line and threw the ball inside before falling out, where Xavier Bartlett completed the catch.
After the match, Iyer said, “My catch played an important role in turning the match in our favor.” Expressing happiness over the team’s performance, he said, “We are playing brilliantly. Every match is important for us and this victory is the result of the joint effort of the team.”
Shreyas Iyer praised young batsman Prabhsimran Singh and said that he has improved a lot in his game and now he looks more mature. “Prabhasimran is constantly improving and has now learned how to finish matches,” he said. In this match, along with Shreyas Iyer’s batting, his excellent fielding also became the biggest reason for the victory of Punjab Kings.
