PCB assures early issuance of visas to Indian fans for Champions Trophy

�LAHORE�लाहौर: PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the Federal Home Minister, on Friday assured to expedite the policy of issuing visas for Indian fans wishing to visit Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy early next year. He gave this assurance during a meeting with a group of Sikh pilgrims from the United States. Naqvi said the PCB is expecting a positive response from Indian fans coming to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.

“We will keep a special quota of tickets for Indian fans and we will try to make the policy of issuing visas faster,” Naqvi was quoted as saying by a newspaper. Naqvi said that the PCB wants to see Indian fans coming to Pakistan and watching the match between India and Pakistan in Lahore. Pakistan is scheduled to host the ICC mega event in February-March 2025, but as of now ICC has not released the schedule of the tournament as they are waiting for confirmation whether the Indian government will send its team to Pakistan for the event. BCCI has made it clear that it will have to follow any policy decision of its government in terms of touring Pakistan. No Indian team has visited Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. There has been no Test series between the two countries since 2007.
