PCB gives update on questions raised regarding safety of foreign players in Pakistan Super League

New Delhi: Amid growing questions regarding the safety of foreign players before the Pakistan Super League 2026, the Pakistan Cricket Board has issued a clear statement that this time there is no risk regarding the safety and travel of overseas players in the tournament.
However, on Tuesday, Pakistan conducted an airstrike in Afghanistan, due to which media reports said that the Australian Cricket Board has refused its players to travel to some cities of Pakistan, especially Peshawar, which is located near the Afghanistan border.

A PCB source while talking to PTI termed these reports as false and said that all travel arrangements have been completed and all the Australian players signed in PSL 11 will start coming to Pakistan from next week. He said that the board has faced many challenges in the past as well and the situation is being closely monitored.

Prominent Australian players like Steve Smith, David Warner, Adam Zampa, Peter Siddle, Aaron Hardie, Marnus Labuschagne, Ashton Turner, Jack Fraser McGurk, Josh Philippi, Riley Meredith and Ben Dermott will play in this season.

The 11th season of PSL is starting from March 26 in which along with Pakistani cricketers, dozens of foreign players will also participate. PCB clearly said that all security and travel related arrangements have been ensured and there is no threat to the players.

  • After this statement, it is clear that PSL 2026 will start on its scheduled dates and with full preparation and the participation of foreign players is assured, which will also maintain the global appeal of the tournament.
