Peacock pulls the plug on ‘Ponies’ after just one season
The 1970s spy drama Poniesled by Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson, will not return for a second season after being dropped by Peacock.
The show premiered its eight episode first season in full on Peacock on January 15, giving viewers the complete story to stream from day one.
Critics praised the show upon release, with the series currently holding a strong 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

But despite earning mostly positive reviews from critics, the series struggled to make an impact with viewers, failing to appear on Nielsen’s streaming Top 10 charts after its release.
Emilia and Haley Lu were joined on screen by Adrian Lester, Artjom Gilz, Nicholas Podany, Petro Ninovskyi, and Vic Michaelis, rounding out the ensemble cast.
“Ponies” was brought to life by co-creators David Iserson and Susanna Fogel, who also served as executive producers on the series. David additionally took on co-showrunner duties, Susanna Fogel directed half of the show’s eight episodes.
Mike Daniels was also part of the show’s leadership team, taking on roles as co-showrunner and executive producer.
