Pentagon’s big revelation, preparation for Chinese military base in Pakistan? America’s report created a stir

China Pakistan Military Cooperation: US Defense Headquarters Pentagon has revealed many important facts related to defense, space and military cooperation between China and Pakistan. The US Department of Defense presented to Congress its annual report ‘Military and Security Developments Relating to the People’s Republic of China Report 2025’ Presenting it, it has been said that China is not only providing extensive military assistance to Pakistan’s forces, but has also considered potentially setting up a military base there.

According to the report, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is actively planning to establish additional military facilities abroad. Pakistan is one of the major countries where China has assessed the possibilities of building a military base. The Pentagon says that this strategy of China is a step taken towards increasing its global military influence and strengthening control over important sea routes.

Plans for military bases in many countries

The Pentagon report states that apart from Pakistan, China has also considered setting up possible military bases in countries like Angola, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, Indonesia, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Seychelles, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tanzania, United Arab Emirates and Vanuatu.

The report also said that the PLA has a special interest in creating military access to the Strait of Malacca, the Strait of Hormuz and the maritime communication routes of Africa and Central Asia. These routes are considered very important for global trade and energy supply.

Supply of modern weapons to Pakistan

According to the Pentagon, China has offered state-of-the-art fighter planes to Pakistan. These include the fifth generation FC-31, fourth generation J-10C multirole fighter jet and China-Pakistan’s joint JF-17 light combat aircraft. The report claims that China has supplied 20 J-10C fighter aircraft to Pakistan by May 2025.

Apart from this, China has also provided advanced drones like Kaihong and Wing Loong to Pakistan including Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iraq, Morocco, Myanmar, Serbia and UAE.

Space cooperation also intensified

The report also mentions China-Pakistan space cooperation. According to the Pentagon, China has stepped up its space partnerships globally in 2024 to establish itself as an allied space power and challenge US leadership. Many countries including Pakistan have signed agreements for cooperation in China’s International Lunar Research Station (ILRS) project.
