Petrol and diesel prices increased for the fourth time in 10 days, know the new rates

The prices of petrol and diesel have increased once again in the country. The price of petrol has increased by Rs 2.61 per liter to Rs 102.12. Diesel has become costlier by Rs 2.71 and has reached Rs 95.20 per litre. This is the fourth increase in the last two weeks.

Oil prices are skyrocketing due to the tension between America and Iran in West Asia and the war-like situation in the Strait of Hormuz. Crude oil prices have increased in the world, which is affecting India also. On Saturday also, oil companies had increased the prices of petrol and diesel by about Re 1 per liter. This first increase in the month of May took place on May 15.

How expensive is petrol and diesel in which city?

In Kolkata, petrol is now priced at Rs 113.51 and diesel at Rs 99.82 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol has reached Rs 111.21 and diesel Rs 97.83. Petrol in Chennai is Rs 107.77 and diesel is Rs 99.55 per liter.

Why is India being affected?

India imports more than 88 percent of its crude oil requirement from abroad. In such a situation, changes in foreign prices and dollar value have a direct impact on the prices of petrol and diesel. Oil prices in India were stable since April 2022, now oil prices have increased once again, due to which the common man is worried.
