Petrol-Diesel Price Hike: Amidst the tension in West Asia, the common man of India has faced a big blow of inflation. The prices of petrol and diesel in the country have increased by Rs 3 each per litre. The new prices have come into effect from Friday (15 May 2026). After increasing the prices of petrol and diesel by the government oil companies, petrol is now being sold at Rs 97.77 and diesel at Rs 90.67 per liter in the capital Delhi. In Mumbai, which is called the economic capital, the price of petrol has gone up to Rs 106.68 per liter and the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 93.14 per liter.
In Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, the price of petrol in Kolkata has become Rs 108.74 per liter and the price of diesel has become Rs 95.13 per liter. In Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, petrol is being sold at Rs 103.67 per liter and diesel at Rs 95.25 per liter.
