The police had earlier arrested six people. An SIT (Special Investigation Team) was formed. Names of 11 people came to light in the investigation. Nine of these were caught on Friday. A woman was also among those arrested first. Videos and locations of sensitive places were found in his phone.

The network was operated from abroad

The accused told that people operating from abroad used to give them work. They had installed CCTV cameras running on solar power. Investigation is ongoing. Police said that two such hidden cameras were installed at Delhi Cantonment and Sonipat railway station. The live feed of these cameras was being sent to the foreign handler.

A case has been registered under sections 61(2) and 152 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), as well as sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act. The accused had installed a special app in the phone, through which GPS location was sent. Foreign handlers used to give them online training.

OTP was shared through SIM card

This gang also used to commit fraud. They used to share OTP from Indian SIM card. They used to get these SIMs by snatching them, buying them from agents or in the name of themselves/family. Due to this, foreign handlers used to run WhatsApp accounts from Indian numbers.

For every work one got Rs 500 to Rs 15,000. The money came through UPI, but was withdrawn in cash from public service centers or shops, so that there was no trace.
