Phu Quoc Island most searched Vietnamese destination for New Year

Data from Dutch-based platform Booking shows Phu Quoc was the most-searched destination by Vietnamese tourists for the upcoming New Year holiday, with searches rising 86% compared with the same period last year.
Da Lat placed second and Ho Chi Minh City came in third, based on hotel bookings conducted from Dec. 20, 2025, to Jan. 4, 2026.
Hanoi came in fourth and Da Nang rounded out the top five.
The rest of top 10 were Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Mui Ne, Hoi An and Sa Pa.
2025 witnessed a boom in tourist arrivals in Phu Quoc.
The island welcomed nearly 7.6 million tourists including 1.6 million foreign arrivals in the first 11 months of this year, up 35% year-on-year and surpassing this year’s target.
Phu Quoc, voted the most beautiful in Asia by readers of American magazine Condé Nast Traveler, had aimed to receive 7.25 million tourists this year, including 1.2 million from overseas.
October to May is the peak travel season on the island with sunny weather and clear blue sea.
