Phulera Dooj 2026: Holi of flowers will be celebrated in Mathura-Vrindavan on 19th February.

The day of Phulera Dooj is very special for the devotees of Lord Krishna. This is the day when Holi is played with fresh flowers instead of colors in North India, especially Mathura and Vrindavan. This festival falling between Basant Panchami and main Holi brings the message of happiness and mutual love.

According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month.

Why is this day special?

Phulera Dooj is completely dedicated to the love of Radha-Krishna. On this day, people offer flowers to God and pray for happiness and prosperity. Worship methods and traditions

On this day, devotees wake up early in the morning, take bath and decorate their houses with flowers and rangoli. During the puja, the idols of Radha-Krishna are bathed with rose water and flowers and dressed in new clothes.

 

Panjiri, Khoya Barfi, Makhana Kheer and Panchamrit are offered as Prasad. Aarti is performed with chanting of Krishna mantras and then Prasad is distributed.
