New Delhi: 85-year-old American writer Edmund White, who is a big name in gay literature, has shared the sex-related experiences of his life in his new book 'The Loves of My Life'. White talked about many aspects of his life on video call. He says that in France there is a lot of openness regarding sex and all kinds of desires are encouraged there. White had sex with three different people every week for 20 years. He considers sex to be an emotional experience rather than a simple act.

He said that in his book he has written about such aspects of his life which he has never shared before. He wrote in his book, “When I wrote that I had had sex with 3,000 men over the years, one of my contemporaries asked pitifully: 'Why so few?'” Conditions, independence of the 70s and then the effects of the AIDS epidemic. White has been with her husband, Michael Carroll, for 30 years. Although their relationship is emotionally strong, they do not have physical relations with each other. In 1984, White was diagnosed with HIV. He experienced the disease in a slowly progressive form, giving him a chance of survival until the advent of new drugs. White says that if you are young then you should have plenty of sex in your life. But as age increases, reading books is more beneficial. Her book “The Loves of My Life” shows how sex, love and literature have defined her life.
