Pilot blamed on AI-171 accident, AAIB says decision is still far away

An Italian newspaper claimed. It was said that the pilot deliberately closed the fuel switches. This news spread rapidly. Debate started on social media. But AAIB said it was wrong. The agency said the investigation has not been completed yet. In such a situation, it is not right to blame anyone.

A newspaper named Corriere della Sera published the report. The accident stated therein was a deliberate act. Technical fault was ruled out. This claim was serious. But the Indian investigating agency called it speculation. It is wrong to draw conclusions before the investigation is complete.

Investigation under what rules?

AAIB said that the investigation is being conducted strictly according to the rules. Aircraft Accident Investigation Rules 2025 are in force. Also the standards of ICAO Annex 13 have been adopted. These are international rules. Their purpose is not to fix blame. The objective is to understand the cause and improve safety.

Is the initial report final?

The agency made it clear that the initial report is limited. The facts of that time are kept in it. This is not the final conclusion. The real reason will be stated in the final report. It will also contain safety recommendations. Therefore, it is necessary to wait now. Haste spreads confusion.

Is it the responsibility of the media?

AAIB appealed to the media for caution. Said unconfirmed news spreads fear. Investigation may also be affected. There are emotions involved in plane crashes. Therefore, news should be published thoughtfully. International agencies also give the same advice. Patience is necessary until the final report comes.

Is the test easy?

Experts say plane investigations are complex. Black box data is read. Technical systems are tested. Human factors are also considered. Weather conditions are also checked. Analysis is done from every angle. Therefore it takes time to reach a conclusion.

Is there any final truth left?

The government and the agency have reiterated. Only the final report will give the real picture. Then we will know what the real reason was. Till then rumors should be avoided. Accidents are serious. The truth should also come out seriously. The investigation is still ongoing, no decision has been taken.
