PKL-11: U Mumba reached second place in the points table with a thrilling win over Bengaluru Bulls.
Noida, 19 November (HS). It would not be wrong if the 62nd match of the 11th season of Pro Kabaddi League, played between U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls on Monday night at Noida Indoor Stadium, is called the most exciting match of the season so far. From the very beginning there was a race between the two teams to get ahead and this race continued till the last 10 seconds but Mumba finally won by a margin of 38-37 on the basis of a super tackle.
Ajit Chavan (10), Manjeet (9), Jafardanesh and Sunil (4-4 points) and Parvesh Bhenswal (3) had important contributions in Mumba's victory. It was Parvesh who gave Mumba a two-point lead by executing a super tackle in the last minute. For Bulls, Pardeep took 10 points while Sushil took 6 and Nitin Rawal took high-4.
The seventh win in 11 matches has taken Mumba to second place in the points table. Despite playing well, the Bulls suffered their ninth defeat in 11 matches and fourth consecutive defeat.
Thanks to Pardeep, the Bulls were leading 3-2 after three minutes but Sunil leveled the score by catching Sushil on a do or die raid. After five minutes the score was 4-4. After this, both the teams played on Do or Die raid for the next five minutes. Thanks to Ajit Chavan's Super Raid, Mumba had at one time taken a lead of 10-5.
Ajit and Sushil made a comeback for the Bulls and made the score 9-11 after 10 minutes. Super tackle was on for Mumba and after the break, Jafardanesh hunted down Sushil and gave him two points. Bulls then limited Mumba to 2 players and then Pardeep dismissed Sunil and Somveer and all out Bulls.
Now the score was 15-15. After Aalin, Pardeep also hunted down Zafar and Parvesh. Pardeep was continuously making dents in the Bulls' defence. With another raid of two points, Pardeep made the score 20-18. However, Manjeet leveled the score by taking two consecutive points. Then Somveer hunted Pardeep and gave Mumba a lead of 21-20 at halftime.
After halftime, both the teams got 2-2 points in three minutes of play. However, Nitin caught Ajit to make the score 23-23. By the 27th minute Mumba had got a lead of 26-24. Meanwhile, Naveen Kundu reduced the gap by dismissing Ajit and Pardeep dismissed Zafar to make the score 26-26.
However, Manjeet gave Mumba a three-point lead with a super raid. Then Pardeep completed the Super-10 by dismissing Parvesh. There were 30 minutes left and Mumba were leading 30-27. After the break, Parvesh put the Bulls in a super tackle situation by hunting down Pardeep.
On the next raid, Nitin made a super tackle on Manjeet but he also went out of the lobby. Now the score was 32-29. Sushil made the score 31-34 with a two-point raid and then Sunny made a super tackle on Manjeet and made the score 33-34. Then Sushil leveled the score on a do or die raid.
Then Char's defense gave Ajit the lead to Bulls. Pardeep had revived. Meanwhile, in the defense of three, Sunil dismissed Sushil and put Mumba ahead by 36-35. Nitin equalized the score again by dismissing Rohit but Parvesh made a super tackle on Akshit and gave Mumba a lead of two points. On the last raid, Sourav Nandal caught Sunil but he could not help his team win.
