Pune: The biggest and most important encounter of PKL Season 11 is here as Haryana Steelers and Patna Pirates face each other in the final on Sunday at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune. While the dominant Haryana Steelers are looking to correct the mistakes of the last final and win their maiden PKL title, Patna Pirates, the most decorated team in the competition, are on their way to winning the title for the fourth time. Haryana Steelers, coached by Manpreet Singh and captained by Jaideep, have looked one of the strongest teams during PKL Season 11, especially with show stopper Mohammadreza Shadloi making headlines on several occasions. Mohammadreza Shadloi, who won the PKL title in Season 10, will be playing against one of his former teams.
Mohammadreza Shadloui said, “The PKL Season 11 final is a huge stage, and even though I am playing against my former team, it will not put any pressure on me or it will not be much different for me. I will get my full attention. We are all very hungry to win the trophy again with this champion team.” Players like Vinay, Shivam Patare and Rahul Sethpal have played important roles in the success of Haryana Steelers this year. Incidentally, Haryana Steelers had also made it to the final in Season 10, but lost at the final hurdle against Puneri Paltan. Jaideep said, “Last year we lost the final and then we went back to training and worked hard with our team so that we can eliminate those mistakes this season. The Haryana Steelers team worked hard in the off-season. And we hope to win the title in the final. The rivalry with Patna Pirates is very tough, but it is not just them, whoever is on the other side of the centre-line, they are our enemies and we are going all out to win the PKL title.
