The game of middlemen is over, money comes directly into the account
The biggest advantage of this technical system is that the money comes directly from the treasury of the central government and reaches your bank account. There is no hassle of visiting any office or paying commission to middlemen. But you will get this facility only when your bank account, identity card and all your information entered on PM Kisan Portal is absolutely correct and linked to each other. If you have not yet done eKYC, the system will not technically be able to send money to your account. At the same time, new farmers who want to join this scheme should also register immediately so that their application can be approved before the installment is released.
Are you eligible for this scheme? Know the eligibility rules
The government has set some very clear rules to avail the benefits of this scheme. It is very important to know which farmers come under the scope of this scheme and which are not. The first condition of the scheme is that the applicant must be an Indian citizen. The second and most important condition is that the farmer should have cultivable land i.e. agricultural land in his name. Basically this scheme has been prepared to provide financial support to small and marginal farmers of the country.
These people will not get the benefit of the scheme even by mistake
The government has also fixed some categories which have been excluded from the benefits of this scheme. For example, farmers who hold or have previously held any constitutional post are not eligible. Apart from this, farmers who pay income tax also cannot get the benefit of this scheme.
Similarly, retired employees receiving monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more, even if they practice farming, will not be eligible for this scheme. Also, any institutional land holder, such as a trust, co-operative society or company, cannot apply under this scheme.
This is how new farmers can apply online sitting at home
If you are a new farmer and fulfill all the eligibility rules set by the government, then you can register yourself for this scheme very easily. The government has given both online and offline options for this, out of which the online method is the fastest and easiest.
- First of all you have to go to the official website of PM Kisan Yojana.
- On the homepage of the website, you will have to go to the ‘Farmers Corner’ section and click on the option of ‘New Farmer Registration’.
- After this, on the new page that opens, enter your identification number, state name and the captcha code shown on the screen correctly.
- As soon as you fill this information, an OTP will come on your registered mobile number, after entering which you will have to complete the verification.
- Once the verification is successful, the registration form will open on the screen. Here you will have to fill your name, address, bank account information and land related documents carefully.
- If needed, scan and upload your land documents and submit the form.
After this your application will go to the state level nodal officer for scrutiny. If all your details are found correct in the verification, your name will be added to the beneficiary list and you will start getting the benefits of the upcoming installments.
