Ethiopia gave highest civilian honor to Modi, PM said – this is the pride of 140 crore Indians

PM Modi Ethiopia Award: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Tuesday honored with the ‘Great Honor Nishan’, the highest civilian honor of the African country Ethiopia. With this honour, PM Modi has so far received about 28 highest civilian honors from different countries of the world. This achievement reflects India’s growing global role and international acceptance of Prime Minister Modi.

After receiving the honour, Prime Minister Modi did not call it a personal achievement but called it the pride of the entire country. He said that this honor is the pride of 140 crore Indians and also of the countless people who have contributed in strengthening the relations between India and Ethiopia. PM Modi said that it is a matter of great pride for me to be honored by the world’s most ancient and rich civilization. I accept it with full humility and gratitude.

The whole world’s eyes are on the Global South

The Prime Minister also emphasized the role of the Global South in his address. He said that at a time when the eyes of the whole world are on the Global South, Ethiopia’s tradition of self-respect, independence and self-respect is an inspiration for all countries.

PM Modi made it clear that the future belongs to those partnerships which are based on trust and long-term vision. India, together with Ethiopia, is committed to pursuing cooperation that not only addresses global challenges but also creates new possibilities.

Discussion on strengthening cooperation in various fields

Prime Minister Modi had reached Ethiopia on his first bilateral visit from Jordan. He was formally welcomed at the National Palace in Addis Ababa. Earlier he had said that he was looking forward to discussing with the Ethiopian leadership to further strengthen cooperation in various fields.

On reaching Ethiopia, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed in a very cordial and unique manner. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali himself welcomed him at the airport and took him to the hotel in his car. During this, he also showed the Science Museum and Friendship Park to PM Modi which was not a part of his scheduled program.

The Indian community gave a grand welcome

When the Prime Minister reached Addis Ababa, the Indian community also gave him a grand welcome. Outside the hotel, a large number of Indian citizens were seen waving the tricolor and raising slogans of ‘Modi Modi’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.

After many years, the visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Ethiopia is being considered important for the relations between the two countries. According to experts, this visit will open new avenues of trade, investment and strategic cooperation between India and Ethiopia and will further strengthen India’s global economic and political position.
