PM Modi gave a gift of Rs 4,570 crore to Kokrajhar: Along with launching ‘Assam Mala 3.0’, three new trains were also flagged off.
Guwahati, 13 March. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday laid the foundation stone and inaugurated projects worth more than Rs 4,570 crore in Kokrajhar, Assam through video conferencing from the capital Guwahati. He also flagged off three new rail services.
Addressing the program organized on this occasion, PM Modi said, ‘Due to bad weather I am not able to come to Kokrajhar. I apologize to all of you. It is possible to communicate with you here only from Guwahati. I had left from Delhi to come to you, but I had to land in Guwahati and now I am seeing you and talking to you from here.
Double engine government is continuously working for the rapid development of Assam.
He said that the double engine government of BJP-NDA is continuously working for the preservation of Assam’s heritage and rapid development of Assam. Today, in this program itself, the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 4,500 crore has been laid and inaugurated for the development of this area. Out of this, more than Rs 1,100 crore is going to be spent for the roads of Bodoland. The third phase of ‘Assam Mala Abhiyan’ will further strengthen the road connectivity of Assam.
road infrastructure project Cost of ‘Assam Mala 3.0’ Rs 3,200 crore
Earlier, PM Modi launched ‘Assam Mala 3.0’, a major road infrastructure project costing over Rs 3,200 crore. Under this scheme, more than 900 kilometers of roads will be constructed across Assam to improve inter-state connectivity and strengthen coordination between national highways and rural roads.
Foundation stone laid for periodic repair workshop at Bashbari, Kokrajhar
PM Modi laid the foundation stone of six road infrastructure projects, including four flyovers and two bridges, in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) area with an investment of about Rs 1,100 crore. These projects will help in reducing traffic congestion and improving connectivity, tourism, agriculture, healthcare and rural mobility in Kokrajhar district. He also laid the foundation stone of Periodic Repair (POH) Workshop at Bashbari in Kokrajhar district.
Launch of these three new rail services
The Prime Minister also flagged off three new rail services launched with the aim of improving connectivity in Assam and the North-Eastern region. These include the Kamakhya-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, which will provide direct rail connectivity between North-East and South India. Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri Express will improve connectivity between Assam and West Bengal. The Orange-Agartala Express will improve connectivity between Assam and Tripura and ease inter-state travel for commuters, traders and tourists.
