Gir Somnath, 11 May. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a strong message to the world about India’s cultural heritage, self-confidence and the strength of the nation in a public meeting during the Somnath Amrit Mahotsav here on Monday. In his address, he said that in history many invaders attacked the Somnath temple and tried to destroy its glory, but they could never succeed.
India did not step back despite sanctions after Pokhran nuclear test
PM Modi said that no power in the world can bend India nor bring it under any pressure. Referring to the Pokhran nuclear test of May 11, 1998, he said that at that time the whole world had stood against India. After the nuclear test, many sanctions were imposed on India and the eyes of the world turned red, but India did not back down.
Sardar Patel fulfilled his resolve to rebuild Somnath temple
Remembering Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Modi said that at the time of independence, Sardar Patel united the country by uniting more than 500 princely states and also fulfilled the resolve to rebuild the Somnath temple. PM Modi said that he has had the opportunity to visit Somnath many times. He said that he had come to Somnath some time back also and he has a special connection with this holy place.

‘Somnath kept standing even after breaking again and again’
PM Modi said that the invaders considered Somnath as just a physical structure, hence it was demolished again and again. But every time Somnath stood up again. He said that the breakers could not understand the ideological power of India. Indian culture considers the physical body to be mortal, but the soul within it is indestructible. At the end of his speech he said that Shiva is not just God but the Supreme Soul. He said that this is the biggest identity of India’s eternal consciousness and spiritual power.
