Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded Seychelles’ highest honor ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ for his contribution in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. This honor recognizes his efforts to fight climate change, green growth, blue economy and environmental protection. In this honor given by Seychelles, climate action, support of Small Island Developing States, responsible use of marine resources and global environmental cooperation under the leadership of PM Modi were also appreciated. This honor of Seychelles also reflects the growing partnership and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of environment, maritime security and sustainable development.

Which international honors has PM Modi received?
This honor is another achievement in the long list of international honors received by PM Modi. Earlier in May 2026, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) had awarded him the Agricola Medal for strengthening agriculture and food security. In the year 2018, he received the Seoul Peace Prize and the prestigious Champions of the Earth Award of the United Nations. The Champions of the Earth Award was given to him for his global leadership against climate change and environmental protection efforts.

So far, 34 countries have honored PM Modi with their highest civilian or state honour. The latest country in this is Seychelles. The Government of Seychelles honored him with its highest civilian honor ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ on 28 June 2026.
