PM Modi honored with Seychelles’ highest honour, ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’
Knews Desk- Seychelles’ highest civilian honor awarded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his outstanding contributions in the field of environmental protection, combating climate change and sustainable development ‘Has been honored with ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’. This honor is being considered a great recognition of his ‘green vision’ and global commitment to promote sustainable development. With this achievement, PM Modi has received another prestigious honor for his efforts in the field of environment and climate protection at the international level.
After receiving the honour, Prime Minister Modi described it as a proud moment for India’s 1.4 billion citizens. He said that this honor is not only his, but also of all those countries and people who are facing the global challenge like climate change. He said that environmental protection is not only a necessity for the present but also our responsibility towards the future generations.
In a joint press statement with Seychelles President Dr. Patrick Herminie, Prime Minister Modi also noted the strong relations between India and Seychelles. He said that his visit is taking place at a time when Seychelles is completing 50 years of its independence. Besides, the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries is also being celebrated. He said that in the last five decades, both the countries have transformed their friendship into a partnership of trust, cooperation and public welfare. The Prime Minister said that the Indian Ocean has strengthened the ties between India and Seychelles for centuries. Cooperation between the two countries has continuously increased through trade, culture and human relations and this partnership will become stronger in future also.
This is not the first time that Prime Minister Modi has received global honor in the field of environment and sustainable development. Earlier in May 2026, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) awarded him the prestigious award for promoting food security, agricultural reform and sustainable farming. ‘Agricola Medal’ Was honored with. Whereas in 2018 he ‘He has also received the ‘Seoul Peace Prize’ and the prestigious ‘Champions of the Earth’ award of the United Nations.
The ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ award also gives new recognition to India’s global environmental policy and climate leadership. In recent years, India has taken many major steps in renewable energy, green development, clean energy and tackling climate change, which are being appreciated internationally.
Prime Minister Modi reiterated that India is committed to moving forward by striking a balance between development and environmental protection and will continue to work with the world towards making the earth safe and sustainable.
