‘End of the signs of slavery’, PM Modi inaugurated Seva Teerth and Dutva Bhavan, said – ‘Today we are seeing a new history of the country being made..’

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Seva Teerth and Dutva Bhavan 1 and 2 on Friday evening. On this occasion, he said that today we are seeing a new history of the country being made. The Prime Minister stressed that India has now entered a new era with the resolve to become a developed nation. The Prime Minister’s Office, National Security Council Secretariat and Cabinet Secretariat have been given space in the Seva Teerth complex.

Many important ministries of the country will be shifted to Dutva Bhawan 1 and 2. These include major departments like defence, finance, health, education and agriculture. The government aims to bring transparency and speed in the work through these new buildings. This modern infrastructure is being considered a big step towards realizing the dream of developed India.

Modi said, ‘Today we all are seeing a new history being made… This day of 13th February is witnessing a new beginning in India’s development journey… Today we all are entering the Seva Teerth and Dutva Bhavan with the resolve to achieve ‘Developed India’. We have been blessed by God to achieve our goals…’

The Prime Minister stressed that India has now entered a new era with the resolve to become a developed nation. The Prime Minister said, ‘After independence, buildings like South Block and North Block became catalysts for many important decisions and policies for the country. But it is also true that these buildings were built as a symbol of the British Empire. Their aim was to keep India bound in the shackles of slavery for centuries.

PM Modi said, ‘Buildings like South Block and North Block were built to fulfill the vision of the British rulers. But, today I can proudly say that new campuses like Seva Teerth and Dutva Bhawan have been built to meet the expectations of the people of India. The decisions taken here will not reflect the will of any king; Rather, they will be guided by the expectations of 140 crore citizens…’

Every year, more than Rs 1,500 crore is spent on these ministry buildings. Every day, around 8,000 to 10,000 employees had to move from one building to another, which led to huge logistics costs. With the construction of Seva Teerth and Dutva Bhavan, these expenses will be reduced, time will be saved, and the productivity of the employees will increase due to the time saved.

Our vision should be reflected in our workplaces and our buildings

PM Modi said, ‘It is important that our vision of ‘Developed India’ is visible not only in our policies and plans, but also in our workplaces and our buildings. The places where our country runs must be both impactful and inspiring…’

‘You also know that there was a time when Kolkata was the capital of the country. But, during the Partition of Bengal in 1905, Kolkata became a strong center of anti-British movements. Because of this, the British shifted the capital of India from Kolkata to Delhi in 1911. After that, keeping in mind the needs and vision of the British Government, constructions like North Block and South Block were started…’
