PM Modi inaugurates Delhi-Meerut RRTS, journey now faster

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Delhi-Meerut RRTS and India’s fastest Meerut Metro. The distance of 82 kilometers will now be covered in less than an hour. Travel by ‘Namo Bharat’ train and metro will be fast, safe and comfortable.

Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and India’s fastest Meerut Metro. With the construction of this 82 kilometer long corridor, the journey between Delhi and Meerut can now be completed in less than an hour. This new arrangement will reduce traffic in Delhi-NCR and improve connectivity.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi said that the operation of both the ‘Namo Bharat’ train and the Meerut Metro service will provide passengers with a fast, safe and comfortable travel experience. This project will prove to be a game changer for Delhi-NCR.

Traveling now easier

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the remaining 5 km stretch from Sarai Kale Khan to New Ashok Nagar in Delhi and 21 km stretch from Meerut South to Modipuram. Now passengers will be able to cover the entire distance of 82 kilometers without any interruption. After the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath traveled in RRTS train from Shatabdi Nagar to Meerut South and also interacted with the passengers.

This facility will not only save time but will also provide an easy and reliable option for commuting to different parts of Delhi-NCR.

Specialty of Meerut Metro

Meerut Metro has become the fastest metro service in India. Its maximum speed is 120 kilometers per hour and the entire route can be covered in about 30 minutes. In this metro line, both ‘NaMo Bharat’ train and metro have been given the facility to run on the same track, which is happening for the first time in the country.

A total of 13 stations have been built in this 23 kilometer long metro corridor, which include Meerut South, Begumpul and Modipuram. Its objective is not only to provide better transport facilities in Meerut city but also to provide fast and safe travel to the passengers.

RRTS train speed

RRTS trains will run at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour. With this, the connectivity of Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Modinagar and other areas with Delhi will be much better. This high-speed train will save people’s time in Delhi-NCR and help in reducing traffic problems.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi also gifted development works worth about Rs 12,930 crore in Meerut. He said that the main objective of this project is to give people a fast, safe and reliable travel experience and to strengthen connectivity between cities.

This high-speed rail corridor will not only reduce traffic but will also boost economic activities in Delhi-NCR. RRTS and Metro will accelerate regional development and make travel easy and convenient for passengers.
