PM Modi inaugurates development projects worth Rs 23,500 crore in Assam, targets Congress
Tezzbuzz Desk- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated and inaugurated development projects worth Rs 23,500 crore in Silchar, Assam. On this occasion, while addressing the public meeting, PM Modi made a scathing attack on the Congress and said that the North-East region was deprived of development by the Congress governments for decades.
PM Modi said Congress kept the North-East “away from both the heart and Delhi” and never developed the Barak Valley as per its real importance. He reminded that Barak Valley was once a major trade route and industrial centre, but it lost its strength under the Congress rule. The double engine government of BJP is now busy in developing it again. He said that now the decades of wait of the people of North-East is coming to an end.
The Prime Minister also said that the basic mantra of BJP is to give priority to the backward people in the race of development. Many projects have been initiated to focus on the development of border and backward areas. The Assam government has strengthened the social status of thousands of families working in tea gardens by giving them land rights.
Taking a dig at the Congress, PM Modi said that today the Bhoomi Pujan of the Shillong-Silchar High-Speed Corridor Project costing Rs 24,000 crore was performed, and if the Congress leaders would not even be able to write such a huge amount, then how could they carry out development.
PM Modi said that these projects will not only Road and rail connectivity will be betterbut there will also be a big improvement in the life and business of the people of Barak Valley and North-East.
