Bureau Prayagraj. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of centralizing power and weakening the schemes being run for the welfare of the poor. Rahul Gandhi said that the government is benefiting the capitalists by weakening the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA).
Addressing party workers in his parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli on Tuesday, the Congress MP said the government has “insulted” MNREGA by changing its name and more importantly, it has withdrawn the protection given to the marginalized people.
The Congress leader said that this step of the government is an attack on the roots of democracy. Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Modi wants to take power in his hands and starve the poor. he said“Congress party is agitating to save MNREGA across the country. We stand with the workers and are committed to protecting their rights.”
Rahul Gandhi alleged that Prime Minister Modi wants to concentrate the country’s wealth in the hands of industrialists Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani. Former Congress President claimed”On one hand we are protecting the public, On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving all the wealth of the country in the hands of a few selected people.
