New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Israel after nine years to give a new dimension to the strategic partnership between India and Israel. In Tel Aviv, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu broke protocol and gave him a grand welcome. This visit of Modi is a matter of defense between the two countries. It will prove to be a milestone in strengthening technology and trade relations. There is excitement about this visit in Israel and Modi is going to become the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Israeli Parliament.
Grand welcome at the airport

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara themselves reached there and gave a grand welcome to Modi. Showing his deep friendship, Netanyahu broke all protocols and the Indian Prime Minister was given a guard of honor at the airport itself. Historic address in the Knesset
Prime Minister Modi will address the Israeli Parliament ‘Knesset’ today. He will be the first Prime Minister of India to do so. Although. The local opposition there has threatened to boycott this address of Modi. On this, Parliament Speaker Amir Ohana has taken a tough stance and made it clear that if the seats remain vacant. So they will be filled with former MPs. During this address, Modi will present his views on global security and the shared vision of India-Israel. Due to which a new golden chapter will be added in bilateral relations.
PM Modi will also meet the President
During his busy schedule, PM Modi will visit Jerusalem and will also formally meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog. This visit is diplomatic. It is considered very important from religious and cultural point of view. In the evening he will hold important bilateral talks with Prime Minister Netanyahu. Where serious issues like regional security and defense cooperation will be discussed. At the end of the day, Netanyahu will host a special dinner in Modi’s honor. Where both the leaders will informally talk about ways to increase cooperation.
These agreements are likely to be signed
Defense cooperation between India and Israel during this visit. There is every possibility of signing many important agreements regarding trade and advanced technology. Both countries are preparing to update their existing security agreements as per future needs. Israel has long been a major defense partner of India. Through this visit, both the countries want to take their relations to a new strategic level. Along with defence, cooperation will also increase in areas like agriculture and water management.
Visiting the Jewish Holocaust Memorial
On the second day of his visit, i.e. on 26th February, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Jewish Genocide Memorial and pay his tribute to the victims there. This visit reveals India’s deep respect for Israel’s history and its sensibilities. Diplomatic relations, which started in the year 1992, have now taken the form of a huge and strong tree. Today, the billion-dollar trade and defense partnership makes both the countries essential and most trusted strategic partners of each other.
