PM Narendra Modi on Opposition: Lok Sabha With women’s reservation Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the nation today after failing to pass the related ‘131st Amendment Bill’ in the House. During his address, Prime Minister Modi observed that a woman might forget many things; But she never forgets her humiliation. The prime minister noted that the flow of the country’s ‘nari shakti’ (women) had been blocked and their dreams had been ruthlessly crushed. He said that though the government had made all-out efforts, there was no success and the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ amendment bill could not be passed. Prime Minister Modi assured the women of the country that he is determined to remove every hurdle that comes in the way of this initiative. “Yesterday we were outnumbered but that does not mean defeat. Our morale is unbreakable. We will have more opportunities in the future.”
Congress is against everyone.
Prime Minister Modi remarked that whenever an important decision for the country needs to be taken, the Congress party suppresses or ignores that decision. It is because of this attitude of the Congress that the country has been prevented from reaching the heights which it really deserves to reach. Congress has created hurdles in every reform initiative. The ethos and working culture of Congress has consistently revolved around “delay and obstruction”.

The Prime Minister asserted that the Congress opposes every necessary reform in the country, be it ‘Jan Dhan’ scheme, ‘Aadhaar’, digital transactions, ‘GST’, reservation for the poor, ‘triple talaq’ law or repeal of ‘Article 370’; He has opposed all of them. They also oppose reforms like ‘Uniform Civil Code’. At the mere mention of the word “reforms”, there is a reaction of opposition from the Congress. Congress creates hurdles in any initiative that strengthens the country. Congress opposes the concept of “one country, one election”. They also resist attempts to evict intruders. He added, “Congress opposes the purging of electoral rolls. It opposes the CAA and pollutes the environment by spreading fake news. It also obstructs efforts to root out Maoist and Naxalite violence. In short, this is Congress politics.”

The Prime Minister said, “A woman may forget anything else; but she never forgets her humiliation. Therefore, the behavior of the Congress and its allies in Parliament will forever remain etched in the mind of every woman. Whenever the women of this country meet these leaders in their respective constituencies, they will surely remember that they were the ones who celebrated the obstruction of the ‘Women’s Reservation Bill’ in Parliament.”
Allegations made against the opposition parties
In his speech, Prime Minister Modi asserted that women in the country have suffered the brunt of self-serving politics run by parties like the Congress, DMK, Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Samajwadi Party. The Prime Minister announced that the opposition parties will definitely face the consequences in the future for the actions they have taken to oppose the Women’s Reservation Bill. He further stated that by doing so, these parties have also disrespected the sentiments of the makers of the Constitution.
