PM Modi met Lal Krishna Advani on his 97th birthday News In Hindi: Senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani celebrated his 97th birthday on Friday, November 8. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his residence and wished him on his birthday. The Prime Minister extended his warm wishes to Advani, who has been the cornerstone of Indian politics for decades and appreciated his immense contribution to the political landscape of the country.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi in a tweet described Advani as one of the most respected politicians of India and acknowledged his dedication towards the progress and development of the country. “On the occasion of his birthday, I extend my warm wishes to LK Advani ji. This year is especially special as he was awarded the Bharat Ratna for his exceptional service to the nation,” Modi tweeted.
Advani, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), served as Deputy Prime Minister in the NDA government led by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee from 2002 to 2004. Earlier this year, President Draupadi Murmu awarded him the Bharat Ratna, which recognizes his lifelong dedication to the country.
Prime Minister Modi also wished Advani good health and long life, highlighting the impact the senior leader had on him personally. Modi said, “He has dedicated himself to the progress of India, and his intelligence and insight are respected. I am fortunate to have had his guidance for many years. I wish him a long and healthy life.” I do.”
Born on November 8, 1927 in Karachi (now in Pakistan), Advani started his political journey in 1942 with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He played an important role in making BJP one of the major political forces in India. Advani served as the national president of the party for three terms between 1986–1990, 1993–1998 and 2004–2005, making him the longest serving president since the party's formation in 1980.
Advani, who played an important role in the rise of BJP, was the country's Home Minister from 1999 to 2004 and also Deputy Prime Minister during the Vajpayee-led government. His tenure saw significant political developments and reforms, including India's nuclear tests in 1998 and major infrastructure projects.
