New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to America. He has many programs scheduled here. First of all, he participated in the Quad Leader Summit in Wilmington, America. After this, he addressed a program called Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly in New York. Heads of state of many countries of the world also participated in this session. On this occasion, PM Modi held bilateral talks with the heads of many countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday on the sidelines of the Future Summit in New York. During this, many issues including the humanitarian crisis in Gaza were discussed between the two leaders.

PM Modi's conversation with the President of Palestine

In the talks, Prime Minister Modi expressed deep concern at the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the deteriorating security situation in the region and reaffirmed India's unwavering support to the Palestinian people, including through continued humanitarian assistance. The Prime Minister reiterated India's time-tested principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue and called for a ceasefire, release of hostages and a return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy.

India's support to Palestine

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi stressed that only a two-nation solution can provide lasting peace and stability in the region. Recalling that India was one of the first countries to recognise Palestine, he expressed India's continued support for Palestine's membership in the United Nations.
