PM Modi participated in Somnath Swabhiman festival, chanted Omkar Mantra after seeing Jyotirlinga.

Gandhinagar, 10 January. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached his home state on Saturday evening on a two-day visit to attend the ongoing Somnath Swabhiman festival in Gir Somnath, Gujarat.

When PM Modi reached Gir Somnath, a large number of people standing on both sides of the road welcomed him. PM Modi chaired the meeting of Somnath Temple Trust at Circuit House. Then at eight o’clock in the night, after having darshan at Somnath temple, he chanted Omkar Mantra, after which he also participated in a grand drone show.

PM Modi also held a road show in Somnath, pictures of which he shared on social media platform X and wrote, ‘It is a privilege for me to be in Somnath. It is a proud symbol of our civilizational bravery. The yatra is taking place during the Somnath Swabhiman festival, when the entire nation comes together to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the first attack on the Somnath temple in 1026. I express my gratitude to everyone for the warm welcome.

Presided over the meeting of Somnath Temple Trust at Circuit House

PM Modi chaired the meeting of Somnath Temple Trust at Circuit House, information about which he gave on social media platform X. He wrote, ‘This evening I presided over the meeting of Somnath Trust in Somnath. The meeting reviewed various aspects related to improving the infrastructure of the temple complex and making the pilgrimage to Somnath more memorable.

PM Modi visited the Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva in Somnath temple and offered prayers. After this he chanted Omkar Mantra.

Grand drone show organized on the coast of Arabian Sea

As part of the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, a grand drone show was organized on the shores of the Arabian Sea in the Somnath temple complex. With the help of about 3,000 drones, amazing shapes were created in the sky, which became the center of attraction for the people. During the drone show, figures of Trishul, Om, Lord Shiva’s Tandav, Veer Hamirji, Ahilyabai Holkar, the scene of attack on Somnath temple, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, logo of Swabhiman Parv and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were shown.

This drone show, which lasted for about 15 minutes, was operated by 40 trained operators. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel witnessed this grand event in the Somnath temple premises. After the drone show, spectacular fireworks were also set off on the beach near the temple.

Will join Shaurya Yatra on Sunday, will also address public meeting

On the concluding occasion of Somnath Swabhiman Parv, PM Modi will participate in the Shaurya Yatra at around 9.45 am on Sunday, in which a symbolic procession of 108 horses will take place. After this, at around 10.15 he will have darshan and worship at Somnath temple. As per the schedule, PM Modi will participate in a public program organized in Somnath at around 11 am and address the public meeting.

Chanting of ‘Om’ continuously for 72 hours in Somnath temple

It is noteworthy that the Somnath Swabhiman festival is being organized to commemorate the 1,000th anniversary of the attack on the Somnath temple by Mahmud Ghaznavi in ​​the year 1026 AD. According to the organisers, hundreds of saints from across the country have reached Somnath on this occasion. As part of the festival, ‘Om’ is also being chanted continuously for 72 hours in the temple premises. Despite several attempts to destroy it historically, the Somnath Temple is seen as a symbol of faith, perseverance and national pride.
