New chapter in relations between India and France: Historic meeting of PM Modi and Macron in Mumbai

India France Innovation Forum 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron have held a very important bilateral meeting in Mumbai. During this meeting, both the great leaders together inaugurated the India France Innovation Forum 2026. Describing this meeting as historic, PM Modi said that now our relations have become a special global strategic partnership. This new partnership will prove to be a milestone not only for both the countries but for the stability and progress of the entire world.

This state-of-the-art helicopter will be manufactured in India and will also be exported to other countries globally.

The two leaders have signed a special agreement for avoidance of double taxation which will promote mutual investment. The free trade agreement with the European Union will take India-France trade to new heights in the times to come.

A historic decision has been taken to set up a special India-France center for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the health sector. Both sides have also agreed to establish national centers of excellence for digital science and aeronautical skill development.
