Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Seychelles on his three-day visit. Seychelles President Dr. Patrick Harmini broke protocol and welcomed him at the airport. Happy with his welcome, PM Modi also thanked the President of Seychelles. PM Modi said that Seychelles is an important maritime partner and close friend of ours in the Indian Ocean. I am excited about this visit, which aims to further strengthen our long-standing relations and enhance cooperation for the benefit of the people of both our countries. He is on a political visit to the Republic of Seychelles at the invitation of the President.

During his visit, PM Modi will participate in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the National Day of Seychelles and hold bilateral talks with President Patrick Herminy to further strengthen ties. In a statement before leaving for the visit, the Prime Minister said Seychelles is an important maritime neighbor of India and a key partner in India’s shared commitment to the ‘Oceans Vision’ and the ‘Global South’.

He said he looked forward to bilateral talks with the aim of further strengthening the enduring friendship between the two countries. He said we will work together to advance the progress of our respective peoples and promote security and prosperity in the Indian Ocean region.

Let us tell you that a contingent of Indian Armed Forces and two warships of Indian Navy will also participate in the Golden Jubilee program of Seychelles National Day. Prime Minister Modi had earlier visited Seychelles in 2015. During this visit, Prime Minister Modi will address the National Assembly of Seychelles and will become the first Prime Minister of India to do so. He said that this historic occasion is a symbol of the strong democratic values ​​and parliamentary traditions that bind the two countries.
