PM Modi roared in Assam, said- Congress wants to settle illegal immigrants here
Namrup, 21 December. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, alleging that the party is indulging in “anti-national” activities and helping settle illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Assam. Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a fertilizer plant to be built at a cost of Rs 10,601 crore at Namrup in Dibrugarh district in Assam, Modi also said that the Congress had made no efforts to modernize the old plant here and find solutions to the problems of farmers.
The Prime Minister said, “Congress is involved in anti-national activities.” It is trying to settle illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Assam.” He also said that the opposition party has nothing to do with the identity, existence and pride of the Assamese people, which the BJP has tried to save. PM Modi said, “Congress is opposing the amendment in the voter list because it only wants to grab power… It opposes my good works… The BJP government will always work to protect the identity, land, pride and existence of the Assamese people.”
The Prime Minister said that the aim of the BJP government is to make Assam as powerful as it was during the time of Ahom Kingdom. Modi said, “Industrialization and connectivity are fulfilling the dreams of Assam. “BJP’s ‘double-engine’ government is empowering the youth to see new dreams.” He also said that the Namrup Urea Plant will help local farmers and create thousands of jobs for the youth of Assam. The Prime Minister said, “Namrup Fertilizer Plant will become a symbol of industrial development in Assam. It is sad that Congress made no efforts to modernize the plant and find solutions to the problems of farmers.”
He also said that India will be able to progress only when farmers are prosperous, and the BJP government has launched several schemes for their development. “Many fertilizer factories were closed during the Congress rule. When we came to power, the BJP government set up many new plants across the country,” Modi said. The Prime Minister also said that the Central Government’s Palm Oil Mission will help the North-East to become self-reliant in edible oil and the income of farmers will increase in the coming days.
