PM Modi said in Kerala – I am worried about West Asia, thankful to Gulf friends who are taking care of our countrymen.

Ernakulam, March 11. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over the serious situation in the Middle East. Addressing a public meeting on the occasion of the launch of several railway-related development projects here on Wednesday, PM Modi expressed satisfaction that Gulf countries are also taking special care of the Indian people.

PM Modi said, ‘It is very natural for all of you to be worried about what is happening in West Asia. Lakhs of our brothers and sisters work there. Whenever any of our countrymen falls into trouble, our government uses all its strength to save him safely. Today’s India does not leave its citizens alone in crisis. Even today, it is our endeavor to provide security and all possible facilities to the Indians trapped in the war situation.

Congress is looking for politics even in such a big global crisis

Along with this, the PM also expressed his gratitude to the Gulf countries, which are trying to help the people trapped in difficult situations. He said, ‘I am satisfied that the governments of all our friendly Gulf countries are also taking full care of the citizens of our country. I am grateful to all those governments. Our embassies and missions in every country are helping them 24/7. If anyone needs food, medical help, shelter or legal help, it is being ensured. But it is very unfortunate that Congress is looking for politics even in such a big global crisis.

PM Modi also explained the importance of self-reliant India. He said, ‘The ongoing war in the Gulf has made us understand again the importance of self-reliance. Be it energy or other sectors, India is trying to become self-reliant in every sector. We have seen how important it is to be self-reliant during the Corona era. Ukraine has seen during the crisis and the current crisis has once again proved how important it is to be self-reliant.

Referring to the development projects in Kerala, he said that Shoranur Junction, Kutti-Puram and Changanassery railway stations have been modernized under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Along with this, electrification of a large section of Shoranur-Nilambur railway line has also been completed. Palakkad-Pollachchi train service has also started today. This will provide more convenience to the people of both the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

PM Modi said that to create a self-reliant India, expansion of the petroleum sector is very necessary for Make in India. The same goal is behind the laying of the foundation stone of the poly-propylene unit at Kochi Refinery today. About four lakh tonnes of poly-propylene will be produced every year from this unit. In the coming time, this plant will support many such industries like packaging, textiles, automobiles, medical equipment, etc.
