Sanand (Gujarat), 28 February. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Semiconductor Assembly, Test and Packaging (ATMP) facility of Micron Semiconductor Technology India Private Limited in Sanand, Gujarat. Addressing a gathering on this occasion, he said, ‘Till the 20th century, the world witnessed the era of Industrial Revolution, where the countries which were ahead in factories, machines and mass production made rapid progress. But the 21st century is the century of AI revolution and semiconductor is the biggest bridge to this change.
Micron Semiconductor Technology India ATMP facility inaugurated
PM Modi said, ‘If the regulator of the last century was oil, then the regulator of this century will be microchip. With this thinking, India decided to move forward rapidly in the semiconductor sector. The Prime Minister reminded that India announced the Semiconductor Mission during the difficult times of the Covid pandemic and laid a strong foundation with foresight even in challenging times.

India is now strengthening its identity in the field of hardware also.
During his address, PM Modi told the attendees, ‘Till 10-11 years ago, there was very little discussion about data and chips in India. When it came to technology, our discussion often revolved around IT services and today India, known for software, is now strengthening its identity in the field of hardware as well. Today in Sanand we are seeing the emergence of a new future. Today India is rapidly becoming a part of the global semiconductor value chain.
He said, ‘After the world’s largest and successful AI Summit, today we are witnessing another historic milestone here. While the AI Summit introduced the world to India’s AI capabilities, today is another proof of India’s commitment to leadership in technology.
Large scale and jet speed industrial transformation can happen only under visionary leadership like Honorable Modi ji.
