Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) participated in the Amrit Mahotsav program organized in Gujarat today. He said in his address that the time itself appears as per his wish, who is timeless, who is the embodiment of time itself, today we are celebrating 75 years of the idol worship of that Devadhidev Mahadev. This universe is created from which rhythm is created. Today we are celebrating the reconstruction of his shrine. Today Somnath Amrit Mahotsav is being organized here in the shelter of those who became Neelkanth after drinking Halaal. All this is the game of Lord Sadashiv.

Modi said, as an ardent devotee of Dada Somnath, how many times have I come here, how many times have I bowed before him. But today when I was coming here, this journey in time was giving a pleasant feeling. I came here just a few months ago, when we were celebrating Somnath Swabhiman festival. The pride of Somnath being indestructible even after 1,000 years of its first destruction and today 75 years of the life of this modern form, we should not just be a part of 2 events, Lord Shiva has given us the opportunity to experience the nectar journey of thousand years.

The consecration of Somnath in 1951 heralded India’s independent consciousness.

The Prime Minister said that the restoration of Somnath Temple on this day, 75 years ago, was not an ordinary occasion. If India became independent in 1947, then the consecration of Somnath in 1951 announced India’s independent consciousness. What I see here is that the Amrit Mahotsav of Somnath is not just a celebration of the past. It is also a festival of inspiration for India for the next 1000 years. I congratulate all the countrymen and millions of devotees of Dada Somnath on this festival.

Today is also special for another reason, on May 11, 1998 i.e. on this day, the country conducted nuclear test in Pokhran. The country conducted its first 3 nuclear tests on 11 May. Our scientists presented India’s potential and potential to the world. There was a storm in the world about who India is and its status to conduct nuclear tests.

When I came here last time, I had said that who can destroy someone whose name has Som i.e. nectar associated with it. This temple has faced many attacks over a long period of history. Many invaders like Mahmud Ghaznavi, Alauddin Khilji came.

He said that the robbers tried to destroy the glory of Somnath temple. They considered Somnath as a physical structure and kept attacking it. This temple was demolished again and again, it kept getting rebuilt again and again, every time it kept rising because those who broke it did not know what was the ideological strength of our nation. We are people who believe that the physical body is mortal. The soul sitting within it is indestructible and Shiva is the Supreme Soul.

I got the opportunity to develop the holy places of pilgrimage because of the blessings of Somnath.

Prime Minister Mmodi said that in the past years, I got the opportunity to serve Somnath Dada as the President of Somnath Trust and the historical work done for the development of this temple and the area, today we all are seeing that change directly. But at the same time I have also personally benefited from this service. The opportunity that I am getting today for the development of all the holy places of pilgrimage in the country is due to the blessings of Lord Somnath.

Today when the world is returning towards natural lifestyle, we have to recognize our power also. We have to be conscious about the development of our pilgrimages and temples as well as their dignity. We should adopt a life which protects nature and environment.
