PM Modi spoke to US President Donald Trump over phone, reviewed progress in comprehensive global strategic partnership.

New Delhi, 11 December. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a long phone conversation with US President Donald Trump on Thursday evening. During the conversation, the two leaders reviewed the progress made in the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and expressed satisfaction over the continuously strengthening bilateral cooperation in every field.

Giving information about his conversation with Donald Trump, PM Modi wrote on Instagram, ‘Had a very warm and wonderful conversation with US President Trump. We reviewed the progress made in bilateral relations and discussed regional and international developments. He said that India and America will continue to work together for global peace, stability and prosperity.

During the talks, both the leaders stressed the importance of maintaining momentum in joint efforts to enhance bilateral trade. They discussed taking cooperation to new heights in priority areas including critical technology, energy, defense and security by implementing ‘COMPACT’ (Catalyzing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce & Technology). Both leaders expressed satisfaction that cooperation in every field is continuously strengthening.

PM Modi and Trump also discussed various regional and global developments. The two leaders agreed to work closely to address common challenges and advance common interests. It is noteworthy that this is the first conversation between PM Modi and Donald Trump after Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India.
